Suzy G in the Morning (Weekdays starting at 6 AM)

Start every morning with a smile from our own ray of sunshine — Suzy G!  Suzy has all the information and music you need to start your weekdays off right!  Everything from the local lunch menus to News of the Wild and Wacky to the Birthday Club, plus all the local events and happenings along with music to get you out of bed and on your way!  If you’re looking for a different sort of morning show, check out Suzy G’s own brand of “country-fied” entertainment!

Seniors Story Hour (Mondays at 9:06 AM)

Suzy G brings classic novels and stories to life every Monday morning by injecting her own distinct style.  It’s a like getting a free audio book every week!  Plus, when school is out, Suzy reads stories for the younger members of the audience as well!  It’s a great way to catch up on your reading, and all you have to do is switch on your radio!

Community Tuesday (Tuesdays at 9:06 AM)

Find out what’s happening in and around Keokuk on Community Tuesday!  Suzy G interviews local officials and personalities to keep you up to speed on events and issues in our community.  Regular guests are representatives from the Keokuk Chamber of Commerce, Kirk Brandenberg with the Keokuk Tourism Office, and Joyce Glasscock with Keokuk Main Street!  Plus, there are other guests throughout the month to keep you informed and entertained about all the great happenings in the tri-state area!

Old Gold Country Show (Wednesdays at 9:06 AM)

Suzy G plays Country hits from an era gone by as she dusts off the LP’s and 45′s and gives them a spin for your listening enjoyment!  Classic Country favorites from George Jones, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Patsy Kline, Sons of the Pioneers and more grace our airwaves once again every Wednesday morning!  Know Your Roots and learn why they’re called “Classics” with the Old Gold Country Show!

Government Thursdays (First and Third Thursdays of each month at 9:06 AM)

Suzy G talks with Keokuk Mayor Tom Marion on the first Thursday of each month — covering action on the city council, local events and community issues while fielding your calls and questions!  If you’d like the Mayor’s ear, this is your opportunity on KOKX-AM! On the third Thursday of each month, Suzy G hosts the Police Show where members of local, county and state law enforcement discuss issues and take questions from you our listeners!

Pet Talk with Jean Meyer (Second and Fourth Thursdays of each month at 9:06 AM)

On Pet Talk, we discuss anything and everything having to do with animals. We discuss the serious issues to the more light-hearted fun topics concerning our furry, feathered, or maybe even finned or scaled animal companions.

Pet Talk has been privileged to have hosted guests from all over the United States and also Canada, Germany, England and France. Guests vary from authors of animal-related books to world-renowned veterinarians, from trainers to humane educators, from animal communicators to pet loss practitioners, from elephant sanctuary directors to bird behaviorists and everything in between that relates to our animal friends.

Big Band Jump (Saturdays mornings from 9 – 11)

Religious Programming (Sundays from 6 AM to Noon)

KOKX features a full slate of religious programming and music on Sunday mornings, including the Christian Science Monitor Show at 6:30; plus services from the First Christian Church at 7:05, Parkview Bible Church at 7:30, St. Paul United Church of Christ at 8:30, Trinity Methodist Church at 9:00 and Messiah Lutheran at 10:30.  If you can’t make it to church on Sunday, you can still stay in the spirit of the day Sunday mornings on AM 1310 KOKX.

The Jim Bohannon Show (Weeknights from 9 PM to Midnight)

The early news returns to the airwaves with Brenda Lee. The 6:06AM news is also simulcast on KOOL Oldies 95.3 KOKX-FM.

AM 1310 KOKX is your source for local and regional news in the tri-state area!  There’s CNN for national, international and financial news at the top of every hour.  Weekdays at 7:06 AM, KOKX Morning News covers local news, police reports, obituaries, the sports calendar and scores, as well as regional news to get you started with all the information you want to know.  News headlines at 8:00 and 8:30, are followed by KOKX Midday at 12:06 PM — with updated news and information from the morning news, plus a full sports report, agricultural news and commodity price quotes, financial news and the stock report.  On the Saturdays, there are local newscasts at 7:06 AM and 8:06 AM, plus the Weekend Midday News at 12:06 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
