WHEN will it END????????
July 07, 2010 ~ 0 CommentsI can’t WAIT until this crap is over. Nobody but LeBron knows where he is going. And his ultimate “let
me have all of the attention” grab of an hour on ESPN to announce what should take 1 sentence? I
mean, how long does it take to say “I AM SIGNING WITH (blank)”? This whole thing has soured me on
LeBron — totally. I admire his skill…but by his actions he obviously thinks he is bigger and more
important than the game. And we in the media are proving to him that he’s right. GET THIS OVER
WITH SO WE CAN FOCUS ON THE ACTUAL TEAMS AND GAMES instead of one megalomaniac who is
going on the ultimate ego trip!! All I can add is this: I hope that wherever he signs…even with my
favorite team the Bulls… that he wins ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Miss the playoffs entirely…every
year. That would be justice served.

May 14, 2010 ~ 0 CommentsI WISH TO APOLOGIZE TO OUR MANY LISTENERS AND VISITORS TO THE WEBSITE … AS WE OFTEN DO NOT HAVE THE LOCAL RESULTS THAT SOME OF YOU MAY BE LOOKING FOR. UNFORTUNATELY, AS A ONE-PERSON SPORTS DEPARTMENT, I CANNOT ATTEND ALL THE EVENTS I WOULD LIKE TO. THEREFORE, I RELY ON COOPERATION FROM OUR AREA SCHOOLS AND COACHES TO REPORT THE RESULTS OF THEIR EVENTS TO ME SO I CAN RELAY THOSE RESULTS TO YOU. IN MANY CASES, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET COMPLETE COOPERATION. MANY SCHOOLS AND COACHES DO ASSIST US…MANY OTHERS HAVE NOT AS OF YET. AS AN EXAMPLE ONLY – THE RESULT OF THE KEOKUK GIRLS SOCCER GAME FROM THURSDAY NIGHT WAS NOT REPORTED TO ANY OF MY RESOURCES THAT I USE FOR SCORES…INCLUDING THE IOWA GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC UNION…THE SANCTIONING BODY FOR THE SPORT. WITHOUT THOSE RESOURCES, I TRULY HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO REPORT THE SCORES WITHOUT GETTING SOMETHING FROM A SCHOOL, COACH, OR RELIABLE PARENT AT THE GAMES. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ASSIST US IN REPORTING SCORES, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME HERE AT THE STATION OR VIA THE WEBSITE TO FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT BECOMING PART OF OUR SCORE REPORTING TEAM.
2010 MLB Fearless (??) Predictions!!
April 04, 2010 ~ 1 CommentAs I sit here on Sunday, April 4th…waiting for the Yanks/Red Sox game to open the regular season tonight…I thought to myself, “Self…why don’t you show everyone just how smart (or not) you are by placing your MLB predictions on the web page?” And I replied to myself, “Self, that’s a GREAT idea. That way, at the end of the regular season, everyone can see how I was so correct and marvel at my genius…or at least get a good laugh out of how awful my predictions were.”
So, without any further idiocy…the following is the predicted finish of each division in Major League Baseball for 2010:
AMERICAN LEAGUE
East Division
New York Yankees
Tampa Bay Rays
Boston Red Sox
Baltimore Orioles
Toronto Blue Jays
Central Division
Minnesota Twins
Chicago White Sox
Detroit Tigers
Cleveland Indians
Kansas City Royals
West Division
Los Angeles Angels
Seattle Mariners
Texas Rangers
Oakland A’s
Wild Card: Tampa Bay Rays AL Champ: Yankees
NATIONAL LEAGUE
East Division
Philadelphia Phillies
Atlanta Braves
Florida Marlins
Washington Nationals
New York Mets
Central Division
St. Louis Cardinals
Chicago Cubs
Milwaukee Brewers
Cincinnati Red
Houston Astros
Pittsburgh Pirates
West Division
Colorado Rockies
Los Angeles Dodgers
Arizona Diamondbacks
San Francisco Giants
San Diego Padres
Wild Card: Chicago Cubs NL Champ: St. Louis Cardinals (OUCH, That hurts!!)
WORLD SERIES: New York Yankees over the St. Louis Cardinals in Six Games
I know I’m going to hear it from all you Cardinal Crazies out there. Look, I may be a Cub fan…and I hope we beat the crap out of the Cards this year, but I’m also realistic enough to feel that the Cards have a slight edge going into the season. Injuries, as always, will play a huge role in way things shake out this year. It should be interesting come October to look back at this and see how close or far off these are!
